We found Herschels Scratch Kitchen by accident and decided to give it a try. The menu looked appealing and we love trying little non-corporate spots. We sat outside and our server was Dani. We asked her for recommendations and she gave us several suggestions. We went with the Big Daddys Southern corned beef reuben with remoulade sauce. It was delicious. Great portions and so good. We especially liked our server Dani. She was personable, friendly and attentive. She is definitely a credit to Herschels Scratch Kitchen.
Enjoyed every bite. Entire meal was amazing. Fresh green beans w/ garlic and yummy homemade mashed potatoes. -Grouper Piccata -Chicken Florentine -Roasted Chicken Vegetable Soup -Warm Bread w/ Garlic Butter (forgot to take a picture, ate it right up) The service was also great. Everyone was very friendly.
It’s was great our food was good and our sever Gary was really nice I got B.L.G.T sandwich it had fried green tomatoes in it, this restaurant is one of our go to restaurants, thanks 👍🏻
I would highly recommend anyone come here for their exceptionally delicious dishes. I did come on a weekday so it wasn’t as busy as the weekends just be prepared on the weekends to have a little bit of a wait, but it is well worth it. The server was polite and efficient. I was never made to feel rushed and was given plenty of time to peruse the menu. They have both outside and inside seating. I sat outside since it was such a beautiful winter day here in Florida. The shrimp and grits are everything that you would expect. I honestly thought that they would garner at least a Michelin star. The fried green tomatoes are just like your mama makes, maybe a little better. And of course, the sweet tea was everything you would expect for a sweet tea here in the south.
Man I'm stuffed. The dinner I had was pretty good. Chili cheese fries were interesting. Different from what I've had elsewhere I'd recommend a try. The chili burger was good. Not many places serve one. The mac n cheese was also really good too. Definitely recommend both a try too. The staff were very kind and attentive. The atmosphere not too much of one kept really simple. Could use some touch ups in some places just to keep the appearance up. I'll be back around again.
My life is now complete 💞 The shrimp and grits was some of the best I've ever had, and I've had some great s & g over the years. I don't think I've had a Mimosa with any either 🤔 Delicious. The setting; small town downtown. You must go! I'll say less 🥰
Best cheese grits around! Bananas foster pancakes were delicious, too. Bananas were well cooked. We sat inside at the bar on a Sunday morning at 11:30am. We had to wait outside for a while waiting on a host to tell us we could go inside. It was late May ( Memorial Day weekend) and already very hot outside. We are locals, I felt bad for the visitors waiting outside and seated outside. Still a favorite!! Highly recommend! If you have children in strollers or babies, bring fans.
This is the best food I have had since I moved down here two years ago. Delicious great prices and great portions. I got the chicken florentine with the roasted red pepper bisque, zucchini and potatoes we also got the mozerella triangles they are the best I have ever had and I get mozerella sticks every place I go. If you haven’t been then go now! Also the service is top notch. New favorite spot
We enjoyed our lunch so much. We went there for Mother’s Day, there was a bit of a wait, but it moved quickly. We were 7 in total and were accommodated easily. Gary was our server, great service (even in how busy he was). Our food took a little long just because it was a busy day. Overall, great experience, and the food was delicious. Big portions and good prices.
The highlight of our trip! We walked in on Valentine’s Day/Saturday morning without a reservation, and despite the rush, they went above and beyond to seat us. The food was so good we kept coming back for the rest of our stay. The staff is amazing they remembered us every time we walked through the door. Friendly, welcoming, and easily the best spot 10/10! My only feedback as much as I enjoyed the avocado toast I think it could be elevated using a different kind of bread like artisan bread
